The Flamboyan is a beautiful tropical tree that grows in the island of Puerto Rico.  This tree is inspired by my father's  friendship to artist/painter Wichie Torres. After my fathers passing, I was fortunate to meet my fathers friend, Wichie.  After a night of good drinks, heart warming stories and admiring his personal gallery, Wichie gave me a beautiful Giclee print of the Flamboyan.  This was a symbolic moment to me, I was deeply touched by this gift, it represented to me, Wichie's immeasurable friendship and love for my dad. After returning home from Puerto Rico I immersed myself into this painting...in memory of my father.
